Mission Statement of DEGUMA

In December 2019, we began to develop a mission statement with all employees, which we as the DEGUMA team would like to use as a basis for our cooperation and activities. Over the course of several meetings, the mission statement was revised and reworked until everyone was satisfied with it.

In order to meet the requirements of a constantly changing world, our mission statement is regularly evaluated within the team to determine whether it still fits our values or whether it needs to be revised.

1. How do we use information and how do we communicate with each other and across departments?

We communicate in a transparent manner and exchange information with each other. We hold as many meetings as necessary and as few as possible. If a conflict arises, we turn to a neutral mediator.

2. How do we ensure cooperation?

We interact with each other in an open, respectful and considerate manner, exchange information, seek solutions and constantly strive to develop ourselves further. Discussions and different opinions are welcome. Together we can achieve more, but in case of conflicts, everyone reflects on what he/she can contribute to find a solution.

3. How do we see our customers and how do we work with them?

Our customers are our partners, whom we meet with and listen to as equals. We want to solve our customers' problems and our highest ambition is to manufacture products and services in a clean environment and deliver them with impeccable quality.

4. How do we understand quality?

We want to be known for excellent quality, so we work with the greatest level of precision possible and make every move count. In order to achieve our high quality standards, we check every machine to ensure that it is absolutely free from any defects before delivery. We consider any defects that have appeared as an opportunity to improve. We want to work in a resource-saving manner and manufacture robust products that are in line with market requirements.

5. What does health mean to us and how do we want to ensure and promote it?

We want to be healthy and fit. Therefore we pay attention to our energy balance by exercising, eating healthy food and taking care of our mental health. We treat ourselves and others with respect. We indicate our limits in terms of capacity, resilience and social interaction and respect those of others.

6. What is an ideal employee and how do we interact with each other?

We want to achieve our goals together. That is why we take our tasks seriously, treat each other with respect and have fun at work. We are constantly learning, professionally and personally, and take responsibility for our actions, which we base on our mission statement.

7. How do we secure financial resources?

In order to last in the long term, we constantly orient ourselves to the needs of the market and react flexibly to challenges. We impress new and existing customers with our products and services at every point of contact and use resources in a considerate and sustainable manner.

8. What do we do? What are we good at?

We are experts for machines for rubber and plastics processing with decades of experience and explicit expertise. We are innovative and combine tried and tested methods with new technology. We can act flexibly and find unconventional solutions, even under difficult conditions.

9. Which image do we want to present to the outside world. How do we interact and communicate?

It is important to us that the name DEGUMA is associated with competence and quality, innovation, experience and internationality. We want to attract new team members because we work well together, are actively involved and further educate ourselves.

10. How can we use resources sustainably and sparingly?

We sustainably and consciously use resources in the company. We look for suppliers with similar values.

11. How do we want to lead and be led?

We exemplify interaction at eye level, also between different hierarchical levels. Decision-making paths should be short, and decisions made as a team if possible. We jointly develop goals for the company and team. Management should be respectful, fair and offer clear guidance, yet flexible. Criticism is welcomed in all aspects and is constantly practiced in a constructive and objective manner.
