What the future of machine operation will look like
Digital twin instead of physical exhibit: DEGUMA presents the future at the first Silicone Expo in Amsterdam. With the help of "Adapt AR", an augmented reality system, trade fair visitors will be able to virtually view DEGUMA machines on a tablet. From March 21-23, 2023, DEGUMA will be present at the Silicone Expo in Amsterdam at booth 523.
Over the past two years, DEGUMA has developed digital twins of its machines as part of a research project with the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT. All related order, product, process, and resource data have been consolidated in a local database. The goal is to use it to simplify machine operation. For industrial companies, this means reduced costs for skilled personnel and travel, time savings in commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting, and fewer downtimes and accidents due to improper operation of equipment. The "Adapt AR" project now also allows DEGUMA to showcase its machines on digital devices for the first time at the Silicone Expo. "We have two firsts at Silicone Expo: the trade fair is being held in Europe for the first time, and we are presenting the future of machine operation with augmented reality for the first time," says Sebastian Bein, Sales Manager at DEGUMA. On digital devices such as tablets, trade fair visitors to the first Silicone Expo in Amsterdam from March 21 to 23 can take a virtual tour of DEGUMA's mixing mills and get their own impression of the digital operation.
Silicone processors can learn from DEGUMA how to optimize their production by using DEGUMA neo mixing mills. The neo versions of the mixing mills are suitable for the production of silicone compounds and compound development. They can also be used to shape, homogenize, and cool compounds from the internal mixer. It is also possible to preheat silicone compounds, mix in vulcanizing agents and other raw materials, process production waste/residues, and produce compound strips.
