25 years at DEGUMA
Frank Birken celebrates his 25th anniversary with us. Moreover, he recently became a contact person in technical sales for our customers. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce him.
Dear Mr. Birken what are your main focus areas?
My activities include visiting customers to conduct machine appraisals for purchases and for technical and safety retrofitting, technical consultation in sales, hydraulic and pneumatic project planning for our new machines as well as those in the reconditioning and retrofitting sector. I also continue to support and assist in the workshop area.
How do you think the industry has changed since you started working at the company?
Whereas the early years mostly focused on getting machines "up and running" and renewing them optically, today's task is bringing used machines up to date with regards to technology and safety.
And how has DEGUMA-SCHÜTZ GmbH developed over time?
We have gone from a used machine dealer with a workshop to a mechanical engineering and service company.
What motivates you in your work?
I am motivated by the wide range of machines we work on – it never gets boring. Despite many years of working here, there is always something new.
Which tasks do you enjoy most?
One area that I always enjoy working in was and is the hydraulics, but finding good used machines is just as great.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my spare time I am a passionate paraglider.
Where are you from?
My home is the Rhön and I live in the small village of Gehaus.
Which languages can I use to contact you?
Mainly German, but I also understand English.
